Dr. Cassandra D. Whitaker is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist who has recently opened a new practice known as Whitaker Women’s Care in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She brings years of experience to the Chattanooga area.
She is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated summa cum laude from Alabama A & M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology. She received her Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Upon completion of medical school, Dr. Whitaker was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army and completed her residency training at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. After completion of residency training, Dr. Whitaker served one year in Vicenza, Italy and two years in Heidelberg, Germany where she was promoted to Major and received the Meritorious Service Award for outstanding patient care.
In addition to general obstetric and gynecologic services, she provides services in infertility, prenatal care for teens, and adolescent care. She gives special attention to counseling and treatment for menopause, fibroids, birth control, urinary incontinence, abnormal pap smears and menstrual problems such as heavy and irregular bleeding.
