Sisters In Business Seek to Help Homeless, Build Business, & Connect Community at Showcase on Nov. 4.
It has been said that many of us are one paycheck a way from losing everything we own and being homeless. According to the 'Mayor's Office News' page found on the City of Chattanooga's website at www.chattanooga.gov "Last year more than two dozen (24) people died on the streets of Chattanooga as victims of homelessness, hunger, joblessness, sickness and in desperation."
On November 4, 2006 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Imperial Ball Room, Sisters In Business will host its "1st Annual Holiday Shopping Showcase & Business Expo. The event will serve as a food drive and fundraiser for the Chattanooga Kitchen, as well as a platform for empowering women-owned and small businesses in Chattanooga and surrounding areas. Launching of this event is also a proactive step towards stimulating socio-economic development in the community, and sustaining household and business income. About the Showcase
Shop Early for the Holidays! Over 30 fantastic vendor will offer fashions. jewelry, handbags, hats, shoes, fragrances, candles, floral designs, art & crafts, books, pictures, decorated accessories, household, culinary, gift and novelty items, as well as professional and business services such as hair, facials, spa, catering, health and wellness, financial, and real estate services.
In an effort to benefit the homeless men, women and children serviced by the Chattanooga Community Kitchen, a $1.00 donation from shoppers along with any donated canned goods will be accepted at the door. Donations can also be made at the Chattanooga Community Kitchen located on 11th Street.

About Business Expo Earn Extra Income! Vendor businesses inside the Sisters in Business Holiday Shopping Showcase will also talk about business, employment, and networking opportunities with those interested in starting a business, gaining employment, and/or making contacts for networking. Opportunities to earn additional income for the holidays and thereafter along with other incentives can also be explored amongst participating "direct selling" type vendors. Be sure to ask vendors about business, networking, or employment opportunities.
