Bigger, better, and buying like never before!  Back by popular demand.  Sisters In Business is proud to present its second vendor showcase event—"The Sisters In Business Holiday Shopping Showcase", featuring sister-owned and other business exhibitors, with products and services for everybody and every budget.  

Come shop for jewelry, fashions, handbags, hats, shoes, fragrances, candles, floral designs, art & crafts, books, pictures, decorated accessories, novelty items, and more!  Yes, we heard you, our wonderful vendors and customers, say you wanted another marketplace showcase...soon.  Well here it is, one that is sure to be beautiful, and offer a unique and wonderful variety of vendors from all over the southeast region, as well as exhibitors from other businesses and organizations.   

Plan now to attend what will be a fabulous, fun, and financially friendly event.  The Showcase will also serve as a fundraiser* where your $1.00 admission will help make a difference in the community over the holidays.  After all, it's a Sisters In Business "thing", and you know we believe that "it's not just about making money, but making a difference in someone's life."

"1st ANNUAL EMPOWERMENT LUNCHEON A GREAT SUCCESS!" SIB's empowering luncheon took place on June 15, 2006 at the Bessie Smith Performance Hall, and included a Mini-Tradeshow and Youth Fundraiser for Girl's Inc. .Disparity Study Regarding Minorities and  Women-Owned Businesses  Before Council.  Deferred Until later date

The Disparity Study, scheduled to reviewed by the Chattanooga City Council the week of June 27, has been deferred until a later date to assure ample attendance of council members.     

The study involves several factors, of which include the analysis of contracting practices, and equal opportunity for participation in contracts where minorities and women owned businesses are concerned.

 Also the study is to provide "both qualitative and quantative data from a socio-economic perspective that will be used to drive the work of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and its advisory board."

The 28th Legislative District Community Development Corporation is pleased to invite entrepreneurs to an informational meeting on Tuesday the 25th of July, 2006 that will address opportunities on Martin Luther King Boulevard. The Girls Inc. Business Plan Competition was a POWERFUL event!  The girls did a FABULOUS job presenting!  The presentations were professional and impressive.  them! 

The participation from girls, the organization of the staff, and the representation from the community made it all so special, and a great success. 

The event was such an honorable and wonderful occasion!   The editor of Sisters In Business wishes to thank all the wonderful young ladies for the opportunity to be  part of plan competition.
