Sisters In Business is pleased to announce its newest  "sister in business" and partner, Mrs. Tamara Longworth.  Tamara is a business consultant for Laurel Lee Jewelry.  She shared with Sisters In Business how upon starting her Laurel Lee Jewelry business, she started searching for events in which to participate and network.  She looked for something that would offer class, but not be outrageously expensive. There just wasn't anything out there. So, she decided to create her own.  The idea she explained started off small but as she talked with more and more people she saw there was a much needed demand for something like this.

Regarding her interest in partnering with Sisters In Business, Tamara states, "I feel women are sensitive to each other's needs and have an inner desire to help others achieve. We all have motivation to make it to the top, but we want to take our sisters with us!  We are all stronger together! "

Tamara's experiences and motivations for starting her new business endeavor are very  similar to that of Sisters In Business owner Tekelia Kelly's.  Owner of Sisters In Business Tekelia C. Kelly said, "As Sisters In Business celebrates its 6 month anniversary on August 14, 2006, it's great to see the networking vision  for women in business come into fruition.  It's also good to see other women who value sisterhood; and know that 'it's not just about making money, but about also making a positive difference in someone's life.  These are women who have a 'heart and soul for taking care of business' like the Proverbs 31 woman.

Tamara will host her 1st Annual "Women In Business" Expo 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Knoxville. This event is designed to help and provide a place for women in small or home-based businesses to market their industry. The cost to vendors is minimal, while it remains no cost to the public. Free parking and door prizes will also be available to those who attend.  For more information, call 865-693-6408.
